The Orchard Lake Cardinals was founded in 2019 by Jermaine Gonzales. He developed a love for basketball & football from playing in vacant fields as a child, to becoming one of the most highly recruited class of 2000 QB's for Orchard Lake St Mary's. Signing on to play for the University of Michigan, it was there that he began to realize talent alone wouldn't sustain him and had to work twice as hard on the fundamentals and mechanics of his position.

He has dedicated the past 22 years coaching young men in football & basketball at Orchard Lake St Mary's in addition to volunteering and coaching in little league sports alongside his young sons. As the inaugural 2021 Head Varsity coach, he led this first year team to the championship game as the #1 seed and earned the MYFCC Super Bowl Championship title. As of December 2021, Coach Gonzales was invited to advance his career in athletics at the High School level, but continues to oversee the Cardinals as its President. Our coaching staff is a group of extremely dedicated and passionate individuals. Each level of our football teams have made post season play off games since our installment, with 5 teams competing in the Championship game over the past 3 years. The cheer staff are hardworking and strive to create a fun yet focused atmosphere for your young ladies to thrive.
